first act
Every great story has a first act.
First Act is a non-performance theatre class designed especially for our youngest storytellers. There are no auditions, no memorized lines, and no final production. Instead, children are free to explore, imagine, play, and discover the joy of theatre in a fun and encouraging environment.
At Playact, we believe theatre isn't about pretending to be someone else. It's about discovering how stories help us better understand ourselves and each other. Through imaginative play, movement, theatre games, and storytelling, students build confidence, creativity, empathy, and communication skills while learning the foundations of acting.
This class is perfect for children who are curious about theatre, not quite ready for the commitment of a production, or simply looking for a creative outlet where they can grow at their own pace.
Students will explore:
- Theatre games and imaginative play
- Creative movement and expression
- Storytelling and character creation
- Listening and teamwork
- Voice and body awareness
- Confidence in front of others
- Basic stage vocabulary and theatre etiquette
Whether your child is full of energy or just beginning to come out of their shell, First Act is the perfect introduction to the magic of theatre.
