teen Company:
romeo & juliet
For students who are ready to take their craft to the next level, Teen Company is Playact Theatre's advanced training program for dedicated young performers seeking a deeper, pre-professional theatre experience.
This semester, students will rehearse and perform a contemporary adaptation of William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet while exploring the acting techniques that bring one of the world's greatest stories to life for modern audiences. Throughout the process, students will be challenged to think critically, make bold artistic choices, and develop the skills expected of serious actors.
At Playact, we believe great performers are not created simply by putting on shows. They are developed through intentional training, meaningful collaboration, and a commitment to artistic excellence. Teen Company combines a full production experience with conservatory-style instruction designed to help students grow both on and off the stage.

WHAT MAKES PLAYACT DIFFERENT?
Playact Theatre is more than a place to perform. It is a place to train. Our programs are designed by working theatre professionals who are committed to developing well-rounded artists, not simply casting productions. Students receive individualized coaching, constructive feedback, and hands-on experience in a supportive environment that encourages growth, curiosity, and creative risk-taking.
Rather than focusing only on the final performance, we view the rehearsal process as the classroom. Every rehearsal is an opportunity to develop new skills, strengthen confidence, and become a more thoughtful performer.
The semester concludes with two fully staged performances of Romeo & Juliet, giving students the opportunity to showcase not only what they have learned, but how much they have grown as artists.
