In a galaxy where everyone is chasing fame, one band discovers that the brightest stars are the ones who stay true to themselves.
This semester, Kids Company will present Star Power, an exciting original musical from Beat by Beat Press filled with humor, heart, and unforgettable music. As students follow The Red Giants on their journey from hopeful dreamers to rising stars, they'll explore themes of friendship, confidence, integrity, and discovering what really makes someone shine.
Kids Company is designed for students who are ready to grow as performers while continuing to build a strong foundation in musical theatre. Through rehearsals, students develop their skills in acting, singing, dancing, and storytelling while learning what it means to collaborate as an ensemble.
WHAT STUDENTS WILL EXPERIENCE:
- Rehearsing and performing the full musical Star Power
- Vocal training through ensemble and featured musical numbers
- Character development and scene work
- Choreography that builds coordination and stage presence
- Acting techniques that strengthen confidence and emotional expression
- Collaboration, teamwork, and the rehearsal process from audition to performance
WHAT THEY'LL GAIN:
- Increased confidence on and off the stage
- Stronger acting, singing, and movement skills
- Experience performing in a fully staged musical production
- Leadership, teamwork, and creative problem-solving
- Lasting friendships and a deeper appreciation for the performing arts
The semester concludes with two fully staged performances of Star Power, giving students the opportunity to share their hard work with family, friends, and the community.
