“Theatrical Makeup
Step behind the scenes and into the art of transformation.
In this hands-on camp, students will explore the fundamentals of theatrical makeup, learning how design choices help bring characters to life on stage. From natural, stage-ready looks to bold character designs and special effects, campers will build practical skills they can use in any production.
With our expanded program, we’re able to offer more opportunities for students to grow not just as performers, but as well-rounded theatre artists.
What campers will explore:
- Basic stage makeup for performance (highlighting, contouring, stage visibility)
- Beauty makeup techniques for stage and everyday use
- Character design and how makeup supports storytelling
- Aging, stylization, and character transformation
- Introduction to special effects (wounds, texture, creative looks)
- Proper makeup application, hygiene, and care
- Working with different face shapes, features, and skin tones
What they’ll gain:
- Confidence applying their own stage makeup
- Understanding of how makeup reads under stage lighting
- Creative skills in character design
- Attention to detail and precision
- A new appreciation for the technical side of theatre
The camp wraps up with a showcase of looks and designs, giving students the chance to present their work and see the full transformation process in action.

Cost:
Register by May 10th: $125 (Founding Summer Rate Discount) - After May 10th: $145
Payment Schedule:
50% due at registration and 50% due 1st day of camp
Founding Summer Rate Discount
Register by May 10 to receive introductory pricing. Rates increase after this date.
Multi-Camp Discount (Per Student)
Enroll in more than one camp and receive $20 off each additional camp for the same student.
Sibling Discount
Receive $20 off the second child’s registration when enrolling multiple students from the same family, regardless of camp selection.
Discount Details
- Discounts apply to the final payment (not the initial deposit)
- Only one discount type may be applied per registration
- Discounts are not applied retroactively
Tuition Payment Schedule
- 50% due at registration
- Remaining balance due on the first day of camp
Additional Policies
- Tuition is non-refundable
- Full attendance and participation in performances is expected
- Camps must meet minimum enrollment to run
